RAD Well Fabrication & Installation on the Intercoastal Ferry MV Quinsam

Meridian Marine Industries Inc. have been awarded the contract to Fabricate/Install four new Rad wells into the Hull of the vessel during its midlife refit in the Spring 2010. We removed/stripped out the old units while the vessel was in the water and had only 12 inches of clearance between the bottom shell and the water line thus we had to prevent any water from entering these compartments.

We also completed major steel renewals on the passenger decks, lengthened the four Engine rooms to make room for the new equipment, modified the wheel house and passenger areas to accept the new A-60 & A-0 Team-Tec windows, installed new life saving equipment and completed the E/R Piping modifications as required by Transport Canada & Class.

The vessel went through Sea Trials and was put into service for the May long weekend.
